For fun...
Ive seen around a lot of the HD media websites theyve written articles on what they consider to be the best BR disc of the year. I was thinking for fun we could do the same thing here. I know we have the "tier" thread, but thats all encompassing of every BR disc released and is a little more "technical" in its approach.
So with forum interest (and moderation giving me continuing editing rights to maintain this thread) I think we could vote in different categories (not too many mind you) and I would collate these every day until we hit midnight (EST) on Dec 31st. It would be a great experience to see the end results and what the forum members consider to be their greatest BR experiences this past year. It would also give users new to HD content a good indication of what discs they could buy that would/should guarantee a enjoyable night in. I was initiall thinking of 3 categories:-

1. Best BR Disc of the Year (Audio/Visual)
2. Best Visual Presentation (Transfer) on BR for the Year
3. Best Audio Presentation on BR for the Year

Was thinking a first place, and two honorable mentions per category. The key here is not the quality of the movie, the story etc, more the technical aspects of the presentation. Users do not have to even bother with reasons for choosing their selections if they dont want to. Its also irrelevant what kind of system people are/were using when they viewed said discs. Despite being based in Australia myself, I'm thinking it may also be fairer to restrict discs to North American releases perhaps?

As an example of what Im thinking, this how my votes would stack up:-

1. Best BR Disc of the Year (Audio/Visual)

A. The Bank Job
Rock solid black levels and incredible detail , combined with an engaging and immersive DTS-HD 7.1 track that was not in-your-face, make this my favourite BR experience of the year.

Honorable Mentions
B. Baraka
C. I Am Legend
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Best Visual Presentation (Transfer) on BR for the Year

A. Baraka

Honerable Mentions
B. I Am Legend
C. The Bank Job
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Best Audio Presentation on BR for the Year
A. Sunshine

Honerable Mentions
B. I Am Legend
C. Ironman

What do you guys think? Welcome any changes and recommendations that ease how you read each post and best format to collate the results.
