Hi everyone. I have noticed something with my tv primarily or more noticably since viewing with blu-ray.
I have a Panasonic plasma (2 years old) and dont' know the model off hand. I have noticed that when viewing blu-ray, the tv seems to be trying to adjust or shift the black level depending on what is on the screen at that time.
In otherwords, if it is a static shot of two people and everything is stable but then the camera pans a bit to one side to include a slightly brighter object, the tv lowers the brightness automatically. This is a very subtle shift but I notice it with my keen eyes. Sometimes it is quite annoying because it seems to have trouble finding the level it wants and is "hunting" up and down.
I never seemed to notice this until switching to blu-ray using the HDMI input on my tv. I have the black level set to "light" on both the tv and blu-ray.
Anybody else know if this is normal?
Jasper
