Im planning on getting the panny 50PZ80U . Though it needs to go in a media niche that is 27.5' deep. Since the panny is about 4 inches thick i need the mount to extend about 23" Anything out there that is sturdy and wont break the bank?

Thanks

The Peerless SA760PU is amazing. You have to look at this mount. It extends out to 27"-28". Hopefully, this would work for you.

That's a nice well made mount, I looked at that mount, ended up with the Sanus instead.

When looking for a wall mount, look for UL listed mount manufactures.
Sanus, Omnimount, Peerless, Promounts, Premier and any o0f the big name brands. Careful of the ebay specials or "no-brand-name-sold-cheap-website mounts"
The really cheap ones out there are not UL listed and you might end up with some mount that wasn't made with materials or parts tested consistantly for safety and durability.

I agree, I have worked with that mount the 760 and while it is heavy as hell, it is very durable, and the cable management makes for a very neat install.

The biggest difference is how smooth it glides. That is why you will pay for a mount like this over the Monorprice mounts. Quality construction and functionality is the biggest difference

Another option might be to side mount it on the side wall of your media niche. That's how I mounted our Panny 50 inch plasma with a Sanus VMAA mount from Costco:

Side mounting has the added advantage of allowing the plasma to extend farther out for tilt/swivel viewing, and leaving more open access behind the panel for storage and cable configuration.

There's currently another discussion on this forum regarding media niche mounts, and last year we had a long thread with many different mounting options at:

Has anyone used the peerless mount SA760PU on metal studs? I have a 58" samsung plasma and it weighs around 125lbs without the stand. The studs are 16in off center. Would I need some type of adapter plate? Will I need to anchor it to 2 or 3 studs? Any other alternatives?
