I just got a Shaw HDTV-PVR yesterday with an Atlas 1055 PVR remote. I was able to set it up to work my TV as needed, however I can't seem to get it to work my Logitech Z-5500 speakers. The only Logitech code in the manual is 1408 and when I enter that the remote flashes the code to tell me it is an invalid code. I also tried the code search, inputting 991 and pressing channel up about twenty times and the speakers still didn't turn off. Does anybody here have any other logitech codes or another way to make them work? I've read a little about JP1 programming but that is way too advanced for me, especially just to make my speakers come on and off or change the volume.
Thanks in advance.

There isn't a setup code specifically for the speaker, but there might be a way to program it in using a close setup code and advanced codes. Try this to test first:
First set the set up code for AUD to 1377. Then do the following:
1. Press and release AUD
2. Press and release SETUP
3. Point the remote to the speaker's IR sensor and type 00117 on the remote
When you press the last digit, the remote should send a signal for power on the speaker. If that works, I will post how to set the programming permanently along with the rest of the codes for the other commands. If you want to set the programming to a different device button (for example AUX) I can show you how to do that as well.

I tried doing what you said, with no success. BUT I remembered that last night while trying to do a code search with the remote I actually got a reaction from the speaker's receiver, it tried to change the levels for the subwoofer. So I went back through the code search and got it to do that again and locked in that code(1370). I then tried putting in the 00117 code the way you told me and lo and behold the speaker receiver went off. I put it in again and it came on. :) Thank you.
So I guess I am ready for you to teach me the next step. All I really want to be able to do is turn them on and off and raise and lower the volume. The settings I can do by hand or with the old remote.
Thanks in advance

Sorry, that was a typo (really:)), you are right, it should be AUD/1370.
Anyway, to program the commands, do the following:
1. Press and release AUD
2. Press and hold SETUP until the remote blinks twice
3. Type 994
4. Press and release SETUP
5. Type 00117
6. Press and release POWER
The remote should blink twice to confirm. Now the POWER key should work for the speaker. Repeat steps 2 to 6 with the codes below for each command and press the key you want to assign the function to in step 6.
Power = 00117
Test = 00184
Direct = 00055
Optical = 00059
Coax = 00052
Effect = 00248
Settings = 00250
Sub + = 00187
Sub - = 00185
Center + = 00183
Center - = 00182
Surround + = 00181
Surround - = 00180
Volume + = 00247
Volume - = 00054
Mute = 00118

Thank you very much for your help. I was able to get the volume control working and lock it to the all the other modes and I will try to assign the other features that I use to some of the other keys shortly. However I was unable to assign the power to the Atlas' power key(I would get the one long flash instead of two). I was able to assign it to another key under AUD. This isn't a big issue as it is working. I won't be able to use the one touch master power control to turn on the speakers though, but that's OK. If by chance you know of another way that I can assign it to the power key that would be great. If not I still really appreciate your help.
Thanks

Thanx for all these codes. I've been wanting to get it to function for years.
You can program the OK/SELECT key to function as the power key - use the same procedure, just press the OK/SELECT key instead of POWER
