Hi everyone,
So I have to decide between these 2 sets.
Hows everyone feel about em?
Sony XBR KDL-40XBR6 & SAMSUNG LN40A750
Anyone have any ideas?
Price isn't really an issue, I want to know about quality!
Thanks!!!!
Just got the Sony 40XBR6 yesterday with the free bluray package deal. This set is really good. I tried 7 sets out over the last month before ending up with this.

These are both very good sets that most of their owners like. The problem with asking the question is you're going to get a ton of Samsung fans that say, "Get the Samsung", and a ton of SONY fans that say, "Get the SONY". I wouldn't put too much stock in any answers you get here. They are both great sets. You should look at both yourself and simply go with whichever one you think looks better.

I was deciding between these 2 sets and the Samsung 40" A650. I just ordered the Samsung LN40A650 a couple hours ago on Amazon. The Sony deal at CC with the free BR player was quite temping though.

Oh I heard about the free BR deal! It is tempting =/
I will take your advice and actually go check them both out at stores first.
How about the Sony and the XBR clouds problem? I've heard about this during my research but have no idea what it is. Is it a huge problem? Will I see that with a A750?

After much research I have concluded to go with the Samsung because I do not want to deal with the clouding issues that come with the Sony.
Thanks for the help everyone!

Nothing wrong with picking the Samsung, just be aware that clouding is a potential problem for all LCDs, not just Sonys.

Yeah, clouding is a universal LCD trait, not just a Sony thing. My Samsungs were far worse than my Sony FWIW.

Both sets are nice, but I think it will come down to glossy or matte screen.

Sorry guys, but what's clouding?
It'll suck if it happens on my soon-to-arrive KDL-46Z4100/B.

No clouds at all. But, I noticed last night, with the lights out with a total black screen, two small flashlights on the top corners. Bottom corners are fine. It's just enough to bother you.
Anyhow, clouds and flashlights seem to be a somewhat-noticeable issue on both Sony and Samsung high-level units for this year's models.
