At around the 52 to 53 minute mark during the museum flashback scene Hellboy starts freezing on my Playstation 3 and only recovers at about the 55 minute mark. This is the first movie and not the sequel.

I'm using the latest firmware and it's a U.S disc.

Anyone else experienced this issue or is it just my player or disc ?

I just used my PS3 to watch it yesterday...no problems at all.

No issues with my PS3 or BD30 (I have watched it on both).

Hellboy II froze one time for me in my PS3 (80GB MGS4 June 2008 issuance) during a fight sequence (I can't remember which one, but I posted about it in the HB II thread), but I ejected and cleaned the Blu-Ray disc and haven't had a problem since. Try doing the same with HB. I haven't watched it since updating to 2.53, though (but 2.53 has caused no problems with anything).

Yep that was the problem. Small smudge on the disc and after cleaning it the scene worked fine and it turns out it skipped about ten minutes of the movie from around 44 minutes in to 53 minutes.

I'll be extra careful from now on and check discs are totally clean before playing them.

I should really think before posting and should have checked the disc first in fact it's my new years resolution to think before i post at AVS. Like most new years resolutions i doubt i'll stick by it.
