I got the Samsung T240HD 24" monitor for xmas and I am having a few issues hooking it up to my 360. the native monitor resolution is 1920x1200. I have it connected using the xbox 360 VGA cable. When I go to the console settings I have the option of setting the resolution to 1920x1080.. when I do so it auto adjusts but does not correctly display the resolution. when I go to info it the monitor shows 1650x1080 @ 60hz. so basically the console goes to the right resolution but the tv won't match it so it cuts off much of the screen. resetting the image on the tv settings or auto adjusting won't do anything to fix it..

any ideas?

Can't you just set the Xbox to 1920x1200? That should be effectively the same thing as 1920x1080.

Negative. Xbox 360 only supports these resolutions:

640 x 480
848 x 480
1024 x 768
1280 x 720 (equivalent to 720p)
1280 x 768
1280 x 1024
1360 x 768
1650 x 1080
1920 x 1080

When I set it to 1920x1080 the console changes to that resolution but for some reason the monitor only goes up to 1650x1080 so it cuts off part of the screen and does not display correctly, almost as if the cable will not pass the signal or something.

did you adjust the monitor resolution in the monitor settings menu?

Frankly, how much difference can you notice on a 24" screen between 1650 x 1080 and 1920 x 1080?

Have you tried using HDMI-DVI? See if that does the same thing.
