I have purchased the 60gig PAL Euro PS3 while I was in South Africa about 2 years ago. I just moved back to the US, and now I'm having a problem with NTSC and PAL. It obviously runs on PAL and US tv's seem to only run on NTSC. I've tried with component cables, rca cables and HDMI. No result.

Can anyone suggest a converter or solution?

I googled some converters and they were like $200. There has to be a cheaper solution that I'm over looking...

Thanks in advance...

NTSC/PAL issues should not apply to HD resolutions, as neither standard supports them. If you use an LCD/Plasma, or other HD technology they all support both. The more likely problem is not NTSC support, but some region coding, which the PS3 undoubtedly has.

PS3 games do not have region coding. Their movies (DVD and Blu-ray) do.

As Bobbyslav said, HDTVs do not have the NTSC/PAL issues. If you are gaming on a CRT TV, then you need to get one that has ASTC.
