Hello, the search functin wasn't working for me so I thought i'd just post.

(Pioneer PDP-5020FD)
I was reading a review about the above tv and it was talking about how it lacks advanced picture controls?
I was curious about this....just how advanced, what options are lacking?

Also would you take this over th Samsung 650 model?

I think it means color management. I could be wrong though.

The 9G, non-Elite Pioneers have very few picture controls.

Advanced picture controls/tweaks may be lacking - but its superior PQ certainly makes up for it.

You can also use ControlCAL to make a few adjustments in the service menu to make this set even more pleasing.

Check out the plethora of information regarding this in the 9G NE thread.

Pioneer Owner's Calibration Reports (http://www.controlcal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=92)

Tools and methods exist to properly calibrate these Models.

Unfortunately, many of the Professional Reviewers out there don't have a clue what can be accomplished..

Here is a LIST (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1058269) of Professionals who can properly calibrate them.

If you really want to know what can and can't be done on the NE's, PM/ask D-Nice (Pioneer Guru here on AVS).
