Trying to adjust this JVC 61z786 for grayscale with colorimeter. Only one set of controls are listed in service menu as:
r-drive
g-drive
b-drive

I know that normally when adjusting for GS there are 2 sets of controls. One for high end and one for low end.

When using this at 80% gray window and setting the x and y throws off the rest of the scale badly.

Is this normal to have only one set of controls? Or are we missing a service menu item?

If there is suppopsed to be only one set, then how do i properly set the grayscale?

Thank you

Darren

Greetings

When dealing with one set of controls ... you compromise and use something like 50% to see how that works out. If not good enough ... try 40% ... 30% ...

It's a best fit design.

So, this set really only has one set of controls?

yes.

unless you know how to access the engineering menu of the TV. Which no one outside jvc normally knows.

not in a service manual.

I was about to start a calibration on this very set. How do you get into the service menu?

and does anyone know if there has ever been a firmware update for it?
