Hi All,

I just got D-Link DSM 520, and love it, except for one major issue...the HDMI connection won't work with my Samsung 32" LCD TV. Based on previous posts, it seems that there is a compatibility issue with the version HDMI that Samsung uses--1.3. Apparently the 520 doesn't support this version.

Does anyone know of a way for me to fix this problem? The TV does not have enough cable inputs, so if I can't get this fixed, the 520 must go, unfortunately.

I've upgraded the firmware to 1.06.01 and I'm using XP Home.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I hooked up my 520 to a brand new Samsung 32" tv during the Christmas season.

You did go into the setup options on the 520 and select HDMI, yes?

Actually...I didn't...

After returning my Samsung, and exchanging for a Sony, I still had the same problem. I spoke to D-Link customer service for an hour, and the tech never told me I needed to select the 520 output mode to HDMI. Amazing.

After just about giving up, I decided to re-read the 520 manual and saw I needed to select the HDMI output! Ouch.

My own mistake, I suppose, and everything works great now. And, I must admit, I like the Sony TV better. Guess you really do need to read the manual carefully. Thanks for the guidance!
