SiriuslyCold 01-08-09, 09:45 AM Yafdtf* * Yet another format doomed to fail I'm sorry, I can't see this taking off. Even with a ton of content, Sony can hardly convince people to buy Blu-Spec CDs that will play in any normal CD player. Talk about a music format requiring not-CD players (SACD, DVD-A, CODE, MVI)...? And these were promoted by people who own content. Plus, didn't even say "Blu-ray profile 3.0" I'm not dissing the idea - I love hirez audio, but... I'm not optimistic frenchglen 01-08-09, 11:08 AM Not even surround? pfft... KyaDawn 01-08-09, 07:01 PM I've been told that Blu-ray audio discs don't offer any performance advantages over SACD. Is this true? petergaryr 01-08-09, 07:08 PM In principle, I'm in favor of any advancement in home audio reproduction. I'm just wondering why these folks think there is a market for high resolution audio when the reception of DVD-A and SACD was marginal at best (and I have a collection of both formats). 007james 01-08-09, 08:08 PM well here is something else regarding Hi-Res Audio Blu-Ray Hi-Res Blu-Ray (http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=2245) SiriuslyCold 01-08-09, 10:16 PM well here is something else regarding Hi-Res Audio Blu-Ray Hi-Res Blu-Ray (http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=2245) isn't that talking about the same thing in the original post? 007james 01-09-09, 09:16 AM For the most part, yeah.
