* Yet another format doomed to fail

I'm sorry, I can't see this taking off. Even with a ton of content, Sony can hardly convince people to buy Blu-Spec CDs that will play in any normal CD player. Talk about a music format requiring not-CD players (SACD, DVD-A, CODE, MVI)...? And these were promoted by people who own content. Plus, didn't even say "Blu-ray profile 3.0"

I'm not dissing the idea - I love hirez audio, but... I'm not optimistic

I've been told that Blu-ray audio discs don't offer any performance advantages over SACD. Is this true?

In principle, I'm in favor of any advancement in home audio reproduction.

I'm just wondering why these folks think there is a market for high resolution audio when the reception of DVD-A and SACD was marginal at best (and I have a collection of both formats).
