I currently have my 8240 connected through component cables to my TV. Everything is working well except I'm getting a lot of buzz on the speakers of the TV and I wanted to switch to an HDMI connection. When I connect through HDMI, I get picture but no sound. I've read that I need to change the audio out to HDMI. I'm not even sure how to find the menu for these options. How do I get to the audio setup on the 8240HDC?

Thx
AJ

press SETTINGS twice to get to general settings menu, select digital audio out, change from dolby to HDMI, then select & exit & you should be ok.

Thanks for posting the question, I had the same issue; but now I have a new problem to solve. I have the HDMI cable going for the cable box (Explorer 8240) to the AVR (Marantz 5003), I'm getting audio through the speakers, but the sound is popping on and off, it appears to occur during scene changes on the TV...very annoying. How do stop this?
