As I'm sure others on here have - I have moved up from my 1st projector and am now in need of a way to responsibly get it out of my house.

What have others done when you upgrade from an old to a new(er) pj.

obviously a buyer for the old one would be ideal - but its an ampro 2000g - so the market is very limited for such a lowly set - (price isn't an issue - I think people spending that little just don't want to fool with the setup of a crt - they would just buy a used digital)

Is it worth while trying to part out so others can scavange parts from it?

or have you had success with commerical recyclers accepting projectors?

please tell me no one has simply thrown one in a dumpster?

Do you have a tech-savvy teenage nephew or neighbor? The 2000G is not worth selling, but it would make a fine basement projector for a kid's XBox or Playstation.

Or list it on craigslist for $100. Or freecycle.

If the tubes are any good, I'd part it out. THe remote is worth $20-30 alone, tubes as much as $100 for the set if there's no wear.

Otherwise, roll videotape and throw it off your roof. :)

I'd say sell it cheap
IMO dont part it out there's lots of people (like me) trying to get into the 3 eyed monsters that are getting harder to find.

if you were local to me i'd give you a few bucks for it......so where are you:)

I wouldn't part it unless you have to. There are plenty of broken projectors to steal parts from- might as well keep the working ones working. :)

+1 to the "if only you were local" list. :(
