I am usually just a lurker, but this thread on another forum has me on the floor. This guy thinks high end HDMI monster cable has a better picture than cheap monoprice cable. Then he starts posting his speakers projects...has to be some of the funniest stuff I have seen:

Best Buy and the other rip off droids at the store will tell you that the information travels across the line better. The 1's are really 1's and the 0's are really 0's at the end other. With cheap cables it all gets scrambled and Grandma's first grandchild will come out looking blue on the TV.
I then ask them if they know what HDCP is. Then I ask them how it works, which of course they don't know. But it must be some magical cables because for some reason only the image data gets 'corrupted' on these cheap cables but somehow the cipher key encoded with each frame data comes across intact?
The HDCP question is a good one. I will have to remember this next time I get sucked into one of these discussions.
nice find.
It starts off really slow and the entertainment really kicks in near the end.
