I'm a novice when it comes to surround sound. I've had this Sony receiver for awhile and didn't even realize it had separate outputs for 5.1. This time around, I want to make sure I get things hooked up right. I will have a digital coax coming into the receiver from my dvd player. Then, the six 5.1 outputs on the receiver use RCA style connections, but all of my speakers (except subwoofer) are the standard +/- wire connections.
My question is, do I use digital coax leads for the 5.1 outputs and splice them to 18 gauge speaker wire to connect to the speakers? If not that, then what is correct?
Thanks for the help.
Matt
