I have my new LG 50PG60 calibrated to CNET's dark room 10 point settings...each IRE has it's own unique setting so I'm wondering if it matters what IRE (10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100) setting I have selected in the menu or not....I was a bit confused by that....it's currently set at 50

It does not matter whats it's currently on unless you just want to access its IRE settings faster than the other 9.

What setting you have the IRE Channel set to doesn't matter. All the settings you entered from CNET are taken as a whole and applied to your TV's picture.
A bit of advice however, I don't recommend you apply any settings from the internet to your TV. Each panel will react differently to the same settings. Simply putting in CNET's (or any other TV's) settings could actually cause your set to have a worse picture than with the standard settings that the TV came with. The settings found on the internet were obtained through mesurements that were specific to the TV panel which was being calibrated. The 10 point IRE is intended for expert calibration using light meters and other instruments to measure image accuracy. I prefer the simplified controls of the 2 point system as I can adjust the colors more directly to where I like them. It's not nearly as accurate but I also don't want to shell out $400 for a professional calibration (at least not until my panel has aged considerably).
