Hi guys. I just replaced my onkyo receiver with the Sony Str-Dg720 (just got a new HDTV!), and i had just hooked up my old bose 5.1 surround sound speakers (cant afford anything else right now). Unfortunately I can not seem to get any response from my subwoofer no matter what the source be it music movies or television, i have tried adjusting it through the receiver and nothing is responding. Thanks for the help

I just upgraded to the DG720 - and I've found it to be fantastic. My only recommendation is to go into the menu options on the receiver, and change your front - center - and rear speakers to 'small' under MENU option #7 - SYSTEM.

Then change the crossover frequency to about twice the lowest frequency of your mains, typically between 80 and 100hz. This is under MENU option #7 - last on the list.

Then go into MENU option #1 - LEVEL - and change the SW level.

Just read the manual, and go through the proper steps to configuring the receiver manually. Telling it the orientation of your speakers, size, level, etc.

IF your system hooks up like this:

All 5 speaker wires go to the Acoustamass module (sub) then out to
the speakers, do the following.

Set all your speakers to large.

Set subwoofer setting in reciever to off.

all the speakers wires run into the base module, and then a separate set is running to the receiver (there is no cable for bass)

You might be better off completely ditching your Acoustamess sooner rather than later. :o

This is why people don't recommend bose systems. Their Junk!
