I just got my first crt pj, sony vph 1252q with a ifb-11 rgb/hv input card
My questions are
will the card work with component out (Y Pb Pr ) and will it accept a progressive scan signal?
thanks for any help

Hello,
and welcome! But no! You will need an ifb-12 for 480i/p or probably 567i/p. So better you get yourself an trancoder like the neoya x2vga oder the great crescendo stuff from the curt palme site. Then you can do HD resolutions too. Or search the web for component and vga...

yeah thats what I kinda figured.
I was just hoping to get a little more performance out of it untill I get my htpc up and running.
480i looks pretty great on a 100" screen  was hoping to get 480p for now but I guess i'll have to wait
thanks Mike
The IFB-11 will do progressive RGBHV.
Is there only one input available?
I'm not familiar with a 1252 but a G70 can take a YPbPr signal on the "A" input. Your menu should show if the machine can handle a YPbPr input.

iirc the g70 comes with a ifb 12 or 12a that accepts component .
iv'e seen many posts on the ifb 11 but they all flip flop as to wether it takes component or not, i'mpretty sure as of now that it doesnt.
i'm going to buy a new video card hopefully today and that will complete my htpc.
then I can use my vga-rgb cable and get 600p ish resoloution.

Mike,
The "A" input on a G70 is neither an IFB-11 or 12. It is the main input.
I used to have my IFB-11 in slot "B" and I can confirm it does not accept YPbPr, the IFB-12 does.
If you run RGBHV you can push 720p easily and if it is a decent cable 1080p.

on my 1252 I have 3 inputs.
video: (s-video/composite), a: ifb-11, b: space for another ifb card.
yes the rgb cable will take pretty much whatever you throw at it
my projector will be the limiting factor, 1280x 960 max resolution.
thanks for the help
