Hi.

I'm building a house with a home theater. Trouble is, I don't own a projector yet -- or know exactly which one I'm getting -- so I've had to make some educated guesses. I've had the electrician wire a plug-in for the projector on the ceiling near the area I think will be the back of a projector. Now I'm running a 2-inch PVC that will carry in-wall HDMI cable and pop out of another wall plate on the ceiling. I'm not sure where to put this plate.

Having the two wall plates directly next to each other would allow the two exposed cables (as they run from ceiling into projector) to look less obtrusive. Heck, I could ziptie them together.

The trouble is that I have no idea if HDMI cables and electrical cables typically have interference problems. Should I be careful about running the HDMI cable near the romex in the ceiling? And can I place the outlets right next to each other, or should I put them 12 inches apart, perhaps straddling the rear of the projector location. Any ideas?

no problem. HDMI cables are at least double sheild, even the cheap'o ones. I would however suggest a triple sheild due to the distance you most obviously will be running to a ceiling projector. You will have no issues with running HDMI and power close together for less than 15 feet.

Well, I have no idea if it's triple-shielded. I'm using Monoprice's 1.3a 22AWG. Hopefully, it works out.
