A bit off topic. But this is too interesting to pass up:

$194,000 for a car that can fly 500 miles on a tank of gas!!!

Sorry but that POS isn't going to sell. It's not a flying car it's a bad car and bad airplane all wrapped into one.

This is a flying car..

Excellent! All those poor driving habits we see everywhere on the ground can be transferred to the air now. ;)

I think rich people won't start buying flying cars until after their chauffeurs finish their flying lessons and pass the test for a license.

I am guessing they will have their limitations. Unless driving as a car you will have to drive to your nearest airport for take off & landing.

Can you imagine if people were aloud to take off from their street and land at the local mall. They will be taking down power lines and running over people for sure. Talking on the cell phone while flying..not a good thing:)

What's the name of the area in Scottsdale where the houses have hangers next to them, and a run way, tower, and air field, so you can park your plane next to your house after you fly? I would expect they would be the first people with flying cars. Personally, if I had 194k to spend on a flying car, it would never happen. I'd have a nice pair of Wilson speakers with that money and some big ass blocks driving them.

Tim Martin (Ehometech, Mr BIG CRT) lives in Scottsdale. But not next to a runway!!!@@

Good point but really what would be the advantage to driving a nicer car and getting on a nicer airplane since you need to go to the airport anyway.

I think a combination toaster and three chip DLP has more promise.

Or maybe a projector/popcorn maker ;)

OTOH, if you can convince an audiophile that music sounds better at 10,000', it will sell :)

All of you seem out of touch. The really rich have flying cars now, they just wrap them in their 747s. :D

Don't need a runway for this beauty :)

That's a good news, bad news scenario. If people fly like they drive, it will reduce the gene pool of those drivers/flyers; but, I won't be up there with them.

Indeed it would seem cars and planes don't mix... :D

One of the pictures has nothing to do with cars, but it is still very funny.

Isn't that the truth. Apparently doctors and dentists aren't killing themselves in Mooneys in large enough numbers, now we need to give them another option.

Aside from birds, I'd say the biggest threat to jet aircraft in the traffic pattern is clueless, squawkless average joe tooling around the countryside with an SA bubble smaller than an RCH. Sometimes I'm amazed at who is allowed behind the controls of aircraft - both in the civilian community and mine.

Hey Hogpilot,
Are you in Tucson. Davis Monthan is the biggest hog base.
I love seeing them fly around.

Nowhere near DM, but no matter what the plane it never gets old watching them fly around - I even like watching my own planes beat up the traffic pattern here! Over in one of our main deployed locations in southwest Asia, one of the off-base restaurants sits right on the final approach/departure corridors of the city's international airport. You'd think guys that fly multiple times a week wouldn't be phased by all the traffic, but conversations would always pause to watch the giant jets fly right over our heads at a thousand feet (or less) while eating there.

But you have an advantage ... I can't designate them as targets anymore.

Socialist countries have companies, so why would you say that?
