I hope someone can answer this question. When watching TV on my plasma screen tv, I hear a static type of noise. But it only occures when certain colors are displayed on the screen.

For example, if red text is displayed I heave the static. But only when the text is colored red.

Or sometimes if an object appears that is yellow, I hear the static,

Does anyone know why this is happening? And more importantly, how do I fix it? It is driving me nuts!

Thanks.

Not sure why it's happening with certain colors or what exactly you're experiencing but I would suggest checking all cables for tightness and unplugging and plugging them back in to see if that helps.

Just noticed you're from Ritzville, WA. As a kid and until a few years ago we would take a family vacation up to Northern Idaho and would either stop at Ritville or Connel for a driving break. You're probably the only member from Ritzville in this forum and I might just be the only member that knows where you're at, lol.

Good luck with your set and hopefully you get it figured out.

I have seen this when watching cable and the display has bright, big letters, mostly from commercials. I beleive it is a problem with my cable system (Comcast), as it happens on all of my sets in the house.

Here's the problem...My Samsung 61' LR6167W (DLP) was purchased new in March of 05'
The bulb appears to be in good shape (which may need replacing soon) but the TV will not power on and is making a steady humming or buzzing noise even when not powered on and I naturally get no type of picture. I'm leaning towards not knowing what the hell is going on and what needs replacing if this info is enough for someone to go off of. Please help, im lost here>.thanks Kurt

Have you replaced your bulb at all? Not sure if it's related to your problem but that's a long time for the bulb to last. You'd likely be better off asking it in the rear projection forum as others may have had similar issues and can share their results. Typically a repair facility will charge anywhere from $75.00 to $100.00 to come out and diagnose the set and usually can be applied to the cost of repairs if you choose to go that route. If the repairs are more than you're willing to spend and decide to purchase a new set instead, then do your research and look at the sets you're interested in whether it be DLP, plasma or LCD in several environments and let your eyes be the judge along with some research on the net about reliability and pros and cons of the set you decide on.

I hope someone can answer this question. When watching TV on my plasma screen tv, I hear a static type of noise. But it only occures when certain colors are displayed on the screen... For analog broadcasting, the audio subcarrier was adjacent to the video, and high video or high chroma could bleed over into the audio. It has sort of gone away as an issue since digital broadcasting (although NTSC upconverted to HD could still have it), but something similar could be happening in your plasma, such as video processing bleeding over into the audio. By rights, it still should not happen. I'd have that looked at.
