I have a Scientific Atlanta 4250hd cable box and Comcast cable and have tried to have it hooked up to my home theater in the basement via hdmi to my flat panel and also send a signal from the coax out from the same box to a bedroom TV. The HDMI signal is great to my flat panel but when I try to see the signal in the bedroom upstairs it reads "the dvi-hdmi is blocked - press exit to cancel" and only sends audio. It does work sending the same picture to the bedroom TV if the HDMI cable is disconnected. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Nope. In my experience with this box, if you enable HDMI, you cannot use another video output.

Thanks for your time. I thought maybe there was someway around it. I guess I'll just have to go back to component instead of HDMI. I was impressed with the clarity of the HDMI ( monoprice) cable over the component though...
