It's been awhile, but I know I can count on AVS forum guys for the right direction.:)
I'm at a cross road right now but don't know which way to go. I have a Sony 1252Q that performs great thanks to all of you on this forum. I have three IFB input cards.
Mike Downing IFB DVI input card
Moome IFB-DVI-Compenent input card
IFB-12 inputcard from Curt Palme
My Momitsu V880 Deluxe is starting to skip/freeze up and taking forever to load a movie- other than that, when it does play, all is well. I have been using the DVI output from the Momitsu from day one with the Mike Downing DVI Card and it has performed flawlessly. I knew at the time it was not HDCP compatible and used it for the Momitsu. The Moome DVI card is HDCP compatible and would like to know if I can use a DVI to HDMI adapter to go Blue Ray? Will a Blue Ray player improve my picture even more? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I may consider parting with my IFB-12 card if any one is interested.

can use a DVI to HDMI adapter to go Blue Ray? yes, but it depends on how old the card is. I ran an HD player trough the second version DVI card. I think it was v1.1?
Will a Blue Ray player improve my picture even more Dan yes but only about 300% :) Seriously the momi was great back in the day but anything out now just blows it away for up-scaling not to mention true HD.
Thanks for the quick reply! Will the card have a version number on it? The box it was shipped in has the date 3/02/06. On the side it says IFB-M2005A+ Any idea where to look?

sorry, that was a long time ago. I remember the very first card came out had sme EDID issues. He sent out chips to people to update their cards for the first batch and/or he did it for them for the cost of shipping. I never bought one of the very first gen. cards so I don't have the exact info. It's probably in the archives or maybe someone else will remember.
Also you can ask on the Moome forum

Same here. Do you think the cause of the freeze up and skipping is firmware or hardware related? If it's just a question of swapping out the drive that would be pretty straight forward. Might be tough to find an identical Lite-on but surely something else would work.
Any suggestions?
I really like my Momi / Infocus X1 combination. But it's getting harder to enjoy a flick knowing the possibility it's going to ruin the flow.

Yes. get rid of the Momi and X1. Especially if during the movie you are worrying about it .
For the price of three movies any used Hd dvd, Bluray player will do away better job than the Momi. The X1 is the worst CRT projector I have ever saw.

Two people in this thread have stated that Blu-Ray is better than "a Moome".
First, Moome (not Momi, or Mommy, or anything else) is the name of a person who made a series of PJ input cards. Momitsu (or Momi) is a DVD player.
Second, a Moome "card" isn't better or worse than Blu-Ray, as Blu-Ray is not an input card, it's optical disk format -
Therefore, it would be very difficult to say one is "better" than the other (ie. a chair is better than a lawn mower, etc.).
Lastly, an Infocus X1 is not a CRT PJ, doesn't use a Moome card, and doesn't belong anywhere in this thread.

1. Most people are referring to the Momitsu DVD player as the "Momi" and stating that going with Blu-ray would be a better choice, not that Moome is better or worse.
2. The OP would have to use a Moome card to hookup his blu-ray drive to his CRT projector.
3. The x1 CRT reference was a joke.

Well I finally did it!
I picked up a Sony BDP-S360 player this weekend and DVI-HDMI adapter. No problem with Moome card. The picture looks at least 300% better with blue ray movies. Upscaling standard DVD movies look so good one would think they were blue ray. This is one of the best bangs for the buck I have done. Thanks to the AVS Forum for all your help! Dan
