Hi,

I just scored a free Panasonic DMR-E100HP DVR/DVD-R, but it didn't come with a remote. Does anyone have any experience getting this line of DVRs to work with universal remotes? I know I can order the stock remote from eBay, but I need to use this deal this weekend and I need a backup plan in case the remote doesn't get here in time.

Probably most Panasonic DVDR remotes would handle the basic functions. See if you could borrow one temporarily.

I'm using a "OneforALL" UMC 9910B01 for its radio-frequency ability (non-line-of-sight). It is a learning remote, so may be more pricey than you want, but you asked! Using on an E100H.

On the remote is printed "www.oneforall.com". Best wishes.

Just about any recent UEI made remote (one-for-all or radio shack) should work, using code 490 or 20490, I think. Pick up a radio shack 15-100, 133, 134 or 135 and see if that works. HERE (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=14516979#post14516979) are some advanced codes you can try with those remotes. I've personally used all the models above with panasonic EH75, EZ17, EZ27 and EZ48 DVDRs.

I picked up the 15-133, and using 20490 I am able to operate the DMR E100HP perfectly, after assigning some additional functions to unused buttons using advanced codes. Thanks to mdavej for his help both here and through PMs.

Chris, check your PMs. Without advanced codes, using device code 20490 on the 133, Menu will pull up the menu on my EZ48 so you can get to Functions, and the Input button does pull up the input selections. Exit, arrow keys, OK, transport keys, numbers, and Info work as well, without resorting to advanced codes. Hope that gets you far enough.

It looks like at least all these models use the same codes as I posted before: E50, E60, EH75, E80, E85, E95, EZ17/27/28/48.
