Hi All,

New user here. Anyways, I have an Ampro 2600HD from '96 I believe. I'm thinking of selling it and I'm trying to gauge the value of this thing if it has any. I also have a DreamVision Dream Scaler I may try to sell with it. Any of you industry/hobbyist vets have any thoughts on what these devices might be worth?

thanks,

If the tubes are in good shape, you might get $100 for them on ebay. THe 2600 is the last version of the Ampro 2000, which is an entry level set. A few years ago it might have been worth a few hundred $$, but at this point no one is really looking for an entry level set. I'm dumping them for cheap... with a warranty, and I haven't had a sale of a 7" set in months. Sorry!

thanks, Curt. That's a bummer. I was hoping it might have some decent value. Well, if nothing else I have gotten a fair amount of entertainment out of it!

I am curious of other opinions: the reason I'm thinking of getting rid of it is because I was given a used Runco CL-500 with a VHD processor. Not a true HD projector, I know but my only video source is a Meridian 568.2 which doesn't do better than 480p anyways. Do you think this would be an upgrade or downgrade?

thanks

Good question. I know once the bulbs go on the Runco.. good luck, they are expensive. THere's a thread regarding Runco reliability over in the <$20K forum, not sure if your set is included in that.

Keep the Ampro as a backup for when the RUnco dies. :)
