I have been looking for a new TV for a couple of months now. I narrowed my choices down to the 50" Pioneer 5020FD or 50" Panansonic TH-50PZ85U. My first choice is the Pioneer. The prices on the Pioneer have dropped to around $2000-2300. My questions is how much cheaper do you think the Pioneer will get? I'm not in a hurry at all to get a new TV. I know $2300 is already a good deal for this model but if there are more price drops coming soon I don't mind waiting longer.

Agreed. I got mine for 1900.00.

My motto is just buy a TV when your ready. You can't sit around waiting and waiting for a TV to get cheaper. They always do!!! By the time you wait, you won't be ale to get one then you wait till the newer models get cheaper, and cheaper. It's a vicious cycle.

They won't drop for awhile as this has been the steepest price drop of Pioneer's displays.

I'm one to wait for a good deal rather than buying to enjoy now. I admit that I defer use of that product, but I'm able to then afford what I really want then. Meanwhile, I enjoy what I currently have. The wait just makes the purchase all that more special.

If I was in the market for a 50", I would buy today as that has to be the easiest decision ever. The 5020 price is insane right now, I wish I was in the market for a 50", but I'm not.

Now if the 6020 would come down.....
