I have to say I went to BB and got my hands on some remotes, finally. Yep the reps tend not to hand over the remotes so fast. Anyways, after browsing the features and settings of several tv’s I started to wonder, why haven’t they (manufacturers) made a better attempt at offering better menu options. A perfect example would be: I have a display setting I name, lets call it, daytime ( I make the name not a modified THX or game mode setting or whatever) I set my settings save it, I then make one called nighttime, etc. I could see where people like me would want several “profiles” for their viewing pleasure. Heck offer like 16 profiles that you can make and save. One for day one for night, one for games day and night, one for sports, etc. It seems simple enough, why the lack of options? I mean really, we have cell phones, mp3 players, etc today that we could only dream about 10 years ago, yet the tv’s out today aren’t all that different in the menu department. Kinda sad. So now were forced to modified pre-determined settings that don’t actually apply to what we want them to do.

Yeah, a lot of ppl complain about that, the interfaces/menus/GUIs sucking on TVs. :(

Always thought it'd be cool if someone like Apple stepped in and designed TV software and interfaces. They really should be tremendously easy and intuitive to use, for the older folks' benefit especially.

Perhaps HDTV adoption rates would be better as a result?
