I have a Lumis on order and will be getting one fairly early.

One concern that I have is what happens when 3D comes to home theater?

I did a search and it seemed like there were a couple different approaches discussed.

Is there any definitive standard coming? Is there anything I can do to prepare for it?

Will all the movies ever made up to now be released in 3D? I think not. I'm not worried about 3D........

It seems the only uhp 3 chippers that will be 3d ready are the Titan reference and Christie. The good news is that no doubt you can buy a second lumis and do 3d with two projectors (which sorta makes sense cause you need much more light for that).

There is a definite Blue Ray standard coming next year. The polarized active shutter glass solution is the best as in reald, xpand and sensiopro. You will get all the new movies and some classics like HONDO (http://www.3dfilmpf.org/info.html). The Titan and the Chrisite are probably just double flash 96/120hz capable , while the movie theater type do triple flash.

In addition to movies there are a large Imax catalog collection as well as nba and nfl sports that have been broadcasted to theaters but which indubitably will see new shelf life with Blue Ray.

In my opinion having seen the proposed JVC dual projector setup as well as several digital cinema, 3D will be here very soon and those casually dismissing it because of the need to wear glasses or personal preference should take a second serious look into it, if they are videophiles as they claim to be.

Another consideration for someone seriously into 3d is abandoning the CIH in favor or CIW or even better a 2 screen or 4 way masking CIA solution. There are ghosting difficulties in 3d with the images at the extreme edges of the cinemascope frame.

the standart is not fixed.

i will take at least 1 more year before they all agree on on standart on bd in
3d and than min. half to one year before we can buy anything.

so in best case for me i guess in 1.5 years we can see something
in worst case 1 year longer.

I would not worry. How long will it take before we really have a lot of original 3D titles? Many years from now I would guess

I thought the world already ended a bunch of times?

Isn't this all some sick, phony Matrix like experience? :D
