I'm obviously not going for top of the line for anything but tried to find the sweet spot in terms of price and performance. I dont intend to ever own Blu Ray ... 90% of what i watch is digital copies and the rest is either streamed from online or is from over the air.

I'm interested to hear any thoughts or suggestions.

I don't think you have a "weak link" but you didn't mention your screen. More importantly, what do you feel is most lacking with your current equipment and what would you like to improve?

Also consider the room (seating, acoustics, decor, color, etc.)

I have a monoprice 108" motorized drop down screen. I haven't gotten to use any of my (new) equipment yet since I'm in the middle of rebuilding the living room (which doubles as my theater). I'm having a real hard time deciding where to put the screen and tv. It's a big room but due to windows and fireplace it's hard to arrange seating and everything so it's available for both the fireplace and movie...

I would suggest that you work through this issue before you make any further equipment decisions. Get everything set up and watch a few movies and then you will be able to make better informed decisions.

The only issue with that is that i have to wire the room... since i had a fire in it the ceiling and almost all the walls are open... so at the very least i have to decide where speakers go and where the projector goes so i can get wires to it.

How about acoustical treatments? I have been on this forum for a few years and I have found most people don't even think about acoustical treatments until its too late.

Please include acoustical treatments BEFORE you do anything!

I dont know anything at all about acoustial treatments... I guess i read to drywall two layers but other than that i know nothing... wanna give me a real quick run down? I do have hardwood floors which i guess are bad...
