HELP! Epson HC6100 "something wrong with Manual focus"

Sorry for my English, still a ESL student. ^.^

Just got from BB for $1733.39 with NJ tax. Everything works ok, but hard to manual focus. When I try to manual focus it, if i adjust to make the middle of the picture clear, then the four side is not clear. So the middle and four side can not be clear at the same time. I am using for computer, so I need to read the text on the side. I had a Sanyo z700 from costco before, never had this problem. Anyone has the same problem?

My first thought was that your screen is not perfectly flat. But if your Sanyo focuses fine, then maybe you should consider exchanging the unit at Best Buy to see if you have a lemon.

Don't they charge 15% restocking fee? or Open Box fee?

Best Buy hasn't given me that problem in the past. I haven't returned anything there for a year though. But I have read at least one person on this site exchanging their unit at BB and there was no mention of a restocking / open box fee.

Maybe on a return but you are asking for an exchange due to possibly defective equipment.

BB has a 30 day "no question asked" return for HT projectors. I got mine from there and that's what I was told by several different sales people. So no fee for taking it back. Hope that helps!

^Not the BB near me. 10% restock on projectors and they are stickin to it. I wouldn't mess with them as they don't offer demos at the store near me. Even when I told them I'd walk they said go right ahead.

You paid $1733 for a HC1600? The lens better be the same lens material Nasa used for the Hubble.

It was a 6100. He is also talking about a service issue so restocking should not be an issue. Might also let them hook it up at the store to see if the problem goes away (remove the source as a possible problem).

There is a restocking fee for business projector not HT projectors. Make sure the sales person knows what they are talking about for fees. When I went into the store and asked if they had any epson 6100's in stock they tried to send me over to the printer/computer section! I'd get a second or third opinion when going into those big box stores because they are not always quick to admit they dont know.....

Just return it with no fee, and they don't even open the box to see! I wish I return a empty box!

Since I return the hc6100, I don't trust Epson no more,(ALL MADE IN CHINA) What should I get next, under $1800 but with 1080p and HDMI 1.3.

BenQ W5000. Not HDMI 1.3 but who cares.
