HI,

The new TV I will purchase will go in the family room. This room is the room that my three year old twins are in 70% of the time. Will getting an LCD be asking for trouble because of it being more susceptible to damage then plasma?

On the flip side, I was concerned that watching too much Noggin with the logo's will be a killer for IR/Burn in on a plasma?

Any suggestions based on these two concerns?

Thanks

The Panasonic Plasmas have their break-resistant "TUF Display" outer glass technology and is way stronger than any LCD screen. They're extremely resistant to IR and Burn-In nowadays and can tolerate hours of static logos that can be quickly washed away by switching to full-screen content. You could even move the logo around by switching the TV to a different stretch mode so it's not always in the same exact spot all the time.

I agree with randy, Burn in is a thing of the past for the most part unless you are looking and trying hard you wont get burn in. seriously all i use my plasma is for gaming and side bars movies, no burn in and no ir, of course this varies based on plasma brand/model etc etc,

Pioneer is IMPOSSIBLE to get IR nevermind burn in, and its best quality on top of that its on sale.

But if you want something more budget then the second best would be panasonic plasma which is still great for IR resistance and BI.

Still plasma is ideal over lcd as it has a glass insted of plastic/sililcion that is very likely to get damage easy.
