for those of you who subscribe to PULSE...is it worth it?Yeah, Pulse is the poor man's Qore. I know it pissed a lot of people off on the Sony boards when pulse came out. Why pay for Qore, when you get nearly the same for free with Pulse.

To be honest, i would rather pay the monthly Qore fee for Pulse, as I find it is a lot more informative and interesting.

FYI, the December 08 episode of Qore is available for free, so you can try it out, see if you want to subscribe. Apparently subscribers get special access to certain game demos.

I don't see the problem with Qore and Pulse co~existing... Pulse is strictly for PSN games and movie downloads while Qore gets all of the big ticket titles, Blu ray previews and interactive content.

I just bought the BD last week because it was $20. Now I wish I would have waited and gotten the download. Oh well. Yes, it's $20 well spent.

All I noticed was that there was content released on the 25th, 26th and 29th. Both the Mirror's Edge PSN exclusive pack and the Springsteen GH:WT pack were released earlier than Thursday.

Nope. They actually released a demo on the same day as a new PSN game!

which part the DLC that you can pay to unlock everything? that's just for those too lazy to play the game. didn't they do the same for RR7 or need for speed?

I believe he's referring to this:

"Skate 2 Filmer Pack ($7.49)
Upgrade skate.Reel with advanced camera controls for the replay editor, custom watermarks, expanded online storage (share up to 5 minutes of footage) plus extra gear for your skater.
File size: 166 MB"

I don't have a problem with it, really. It doesn't affect gameplay and there was no promise of "advanced camera controls, custom watermarks, or expanded storage" on the box for free. It's not like it gives any competitive advantage.

Yep, I enjoy BO so much that I don't feel burned that I paid $30 for it a little over a month ago...

The advanced camera controls thing is very, very dirty. That has just convinced me to buy the game used instead of new.

I'll be getting BO tonight. LBP is an awesome game but Criterion should have had developer of the year based on their extended love for their customers.

That's just it--Who is going to spend $8 for camera angles and a few unnamed goodies for your skater? Not many, I don't think.

But, if anyone feels strongly enough, please send them an email to their customer service to voice your displeasure. At least put it on record with them.

I'd agree if it weren't for that little company called Valve. Sure, they "techincaly" screwed PS3 & 360 owners by having EA produce their recents ports and then subsequently not supporting them but on the PC Valve is king of customer love. So much content, so many fixes, so many updates, so much rebalancing it's enough to bring a tear to my eye. Criterion takes a VERY CLOSE second place though....first for the PS3 though, no doubt about that.

Purchased Burnout last night, after about fourteen hours of downloading and installing/updating I can finally play. I've had this game on the 360 since it came out, at twenty bucks it's a no brainer.

I just bought the BD last week because it was $20. Now I wish I would have waited and gotten the download. Oh well. Yes, it's $20 well spent.

Why exactly? I'm new to the idea of downloading games. My instinct is to want a physical copy as well as the manual. I see downloading an entire game as taking up space on the HD that could be filled with things not available in a physical format, game saves, etc. Not to mention the time it takes to download.

Is it just being able to access directly from the HD and not worry about switching discs? Do games load faster if they've been downloaded rather than being read off the disc?

Martez
01-30-09, 05:08 PM
Loads a little faster (not too important in Burnout's case), and the convenience of not switching discs. I'd download all my games if I could; yeah, it sucks that you can't resell them but you pay less for'em up front and I'm willing to sacrifice that for convenience.

I got savage moon last night only able to play a few levels. each level has a quick tutorial(the first tutorial was not quick) and adds a new tower/ ability to your defense. my only complaint so far is that the contols are inverted with apparently no way to change it. if your a td fan ( ie monsters) you will probably like the game. btw no 2 player option that i have seen.

The thing with PoP is really screwed up, from what I read they just simply cut out the whole epilogue which was supposed to be the ending. I'm in the process of beating the game, half way through, but I hear that the game ended in a weird way and now you know why, it is missing the ending heheh...
