Hi,
I have a LCD Home theater projector model HP-070.
It powers up however when lamp switched on it lights for a split second and then goes off.
I am told that it might be a heat sensor switch problem but do not know where it might be located to short it out to test.
Any help much appreciated.
Regards,
John

It actually sounds like you might just have a bad lamp, although I'm not familiar with this model projector.

It could be a defective lamp or a ballast issue. Where did you get the info indicating that it might be a heat sensor?

Hi,
Thanks. Is it common for a lamp to do that? blink on then shutdown? Maybe I should take the unit to the place where I purchased the lamp and show them what is happening?
I purchased the projector from ebay as an untested item and their tech guy offered that fix about the sensor?

How long ago did you buy it on Ebay? If you have the ability to do so I'd return it and get a refund. If not I would have the place you bought the lamp from swap the lamp under warranty. If the new lamp doesn't work you have an internal issue requiring repair.

Hope you didn't pay much since it sounds like you bought a junker.
I can't understand the lure of used PJs when so many much better news ones are the same price or less these days.
