First & foremost, thank you to all of the very helpful strangers on the forum. I have lurked for a few months prior to starting my basement theater and now couldn't be happier.
I hired a local guy to take care of the basement but had to keep my hands dirty in the theater. The room measures 11'6" W x 20' L with an 8ft ceiling. I built the screen wall with a speaker platform behind the screen cutout in preperation for a 100" acoustically transparent screen that I constructed out of 3" poplar and Dazian fabric. The casings are wrapped in velvet tape. A half-moon stage is attached to the screen wall that also includes a built-in AV rack. The sides will be covered with curtain to hide the entrance to the electical panel and the AV rack. A remote curtain opener is mounted behind a faux archway directly in front of the screen. Black USG acoustic tile will make up the ceiling. Fortunately the ceiling will be completed tomorrow so I can install and calibrate all my equiptment and remove the plastic from the screen prior to the Superbowl- the grand opening even though not finished.
AV equiptment:
Epson 7100 projector
Pioneer Elite 92TXH
Samsung 1500 Bluray
Klipsch 52's (5.1)
DirecTV HD-DVR
