I live in a the most populous country in Africa and i can tell you that the popularity of playstation 2 is overwhelming. The only downside to this issue is the readily available pirated games on this console. I have tried the business of selling original games but had to close shop because of the cheap and fake games being touted everywhere. With the advent of ps3, the pirates are not finding it easy to distribute their products because of the lack of pirated games on ps3. A lot of these pirates are frustrated due to this unique feature and have therefore concentrated their sales on ps2 consoles instead. This has led to the ps3 not being given the necessary publicity it deserves here. I believe the same goes for China and asia as well because that is where these pirates get their stock from. I hope Sony continues to add features that make it virtually impossible for these vultures not to hack the ps3. It is easy to sell millions of consoles due to the fact that the purchasers know they can get the games virtually free. Xbox and wii games are easily pirated and i have a feeling that the developers of their games are not making a profit on them even with the console leading the market share. Playstation 3 game developers have an edge over the rest in ters of profitabilty. This will in turn lead to better games being developed for ps3. More kudos to Sony and i hope they continue to soar to greater heights.
