The idea of 2.0 aspect ratio is making more and more sense.
Recently Tony Grimani began proposing it...

With the idea of inserting the largest screen possible into a room.
My appeal is trifold: 1) as stated above 2) because most good 3D is not cinemascope and 3) because of the complexities and screen side real estate requirements of a masking system for a TORUS.
The screen that should be on everyone's 2010 xmas list for it's unique property of enhancing the sharpness of the image and converting 2 dimensional content
into a virtual 3d extravaganza.
I have been modeling what a 15'4" wide 2.0 would look like next to a 6'6" person.

The superkontrast version of the ILS would permit these adjustments, and for someone that wanted to see cinemascope with top and bottom masking panels, That can easily be done.
