Hi,
I'm a Comcast Digital Cable Customer, live in the Walnut Creek, have a Hitachi 42hds69 plasma, and for the past two years have been utilizing a CabeCard installed directly into the TV.
With regards to the TV - It's 2 years old and I have the latest version of TV software installed (HAMP 1242.F02) that I downloaded from: http://www.jbmaudio.net/DownLoads/Hitachi%2042-55HDS69/
The TV's been great - and I've had no reception problems over the past two years until about three to four weeks ago when Comcast started changing the channel line-ups.
In short - my problem is the TV is not getting any sound from Comcast HD Sports Net on Channel 720. The Picture is crystal clear - but - with no sound.
Background: When the TV is tuned to Channel 720 - before a scheduled sporting event, the channels sound is operating. The blue trademark "HD Sports" symbol is rotating on the TV screen, and the "dum da da da dum" sound is heard.
BUT - As soon as Comcast starts transmitting a Warriors or Sharks game on Channel 720, the Picture comes through crystal clear - but - there is no sound. If I turn to an the analog version broadcast on Channel 410 - there is the same sporting event (in SD) but with sound. The Signal Strength is 85 and the SNR is 76 - good numbers...
So what gives? I want to contact Comcast - but - but fully expect their CS Dept to deny everything (possibly go so far as to say the TV is broke) AND also try to get me to rent one of their fugly Set Top Boxes (not an option in my book).
Any ideas are welcome,
Fast Dave
