Hello!
I'm looking to put together a decent 2 channel system and would like some advice and recommendations for speakers.

Here's my situation:

The source will be lossless CD rips via a streaming device like a sonos or a squeezebox.
I'm planning on connecting such a device directly to a 2 channel power amp.
My room is 15' x 20', 14' ceilings, open on one side to a kitchen.
I listen mostly to reggae and dub, but also some classic rock, blues and classical.
I don't usually listen at very high levels so I would want something that is clean and clear at lower levels.
I would like to spend $1500 or less on speakers.

So far I'm thinking of something like the paradigm studio 60s (or maybe the 100s used) or the aperion 6T, but I have yet to actually audition anything.

What would you guys recommend?

Thanks!!

Clear, clean at low volume is what Axiom does best for less than Paradigm(new) with nearly the same sonic signature as Paradigm, at least to my ears. You should look into the M60 or M80, the M80 offers a little more detail and reaches a little lower, since you mention this is for 2 channel you should look at the fullest range speaker you can get. If you do think Axiom might be right check ut the Factory Outlet to save 10%. only very minor cosmetic issues with these speakers, I have yet to find anything wrong on the 3 speakers I bought.

I would also recommend looking at Av123 Rocket RS850s when they are on sale, I have heard very good things about these speakers as well, and if you can get them on sale for $1400 would be worth a look as well.

Good luck.

For bookshelves, Check out the ERA D5's. These are actually under $1,000 for the pair. You could also check out the Monitor Audio GS10's.

For a freestanding tower, check out the ERA Design10, or the Monitor Audio RS6's and RS8's.

so many to choose from. Ones I would recommend auditioning in addition to the Paradigms:
Monitor Audio RS-8's
B&W 683's
Quad 22-L's
