I'll be getting a new Dish Network HDDVR and was wondering what audio formats get passed via HDMI. Is it DD5.1 or do they transmit TrueHD or any other advanced audio formats?

I doubt they send out anything higher then DD5.1.

My 722 does either Dolby Digital or PCM depending on the signal.

DD5.1 or less depending on the particular channel/show, although I believe I read a post somewhere that someone reported getting a 7 channel signal. I have my doubts unless it was on one of the VOD 1080p pay broadcasts.

I've also noticed that on some programs that display on my AVR as 5.1, I sometimes don't get all six channels. Again, depends on the particular satellite channel.

I don't know really? I've switched them back and forth to see if there's a difference and I can't notice any? I googled around a long time ago and couldn't find any info on it either. Though there may be some now? I haven't looked since then.
