I am looking for some help. I am going to upgrade my Terk HDTVO attic antenna for a real antenna. I am having trouble locating a VHF High/UHF antenna that will range 50+ miles. This will be mounted in my attic to my Samsung HDTV. With the HDTVO I pick up all 4 of my locals as well as WNYS and WSYT in Syracuse.

After the transition I would like to spin my antenna to the south and pick up WBRE WYOU WQPX and hopefully WSWB.

My attic opening is about 40" wide and the cable run is under 50ft and will only be going to a wall jack then to the tv.

I will have 1 station at VHF low 4 until April as they are waiting for a tower to be sent from California and plan to move to 34 but that is not a factor.

What recommendations do you have as far as a VHF High/UHf Antenna?

Attached is my TVFool spectrum and an outside mount is not available

A winegard 769x series antenna would work well for the first four channels on your list. But NBC is gonna be a real challenge to acquire in your attic (100+ degrees difference in orientation and very low signal level in your location). The NM for NBC would drop 13 dB on average with an attic mount. How important is NBC to you?

I am looking to pick up the 2nd NBC on the list that is about 10 degrees difference WBRE-DT with a -12.6 NM(db)

You have a better chance at acquiring WETM than WBRE. It may be possible to acquire WETM with a separate high gain UHF antenna (such as Antenna Direct XG-91) and then use a jointenna to add to your main antenna downlead. A pre-amp is likely needed for this second antenna but do not add amplification on the downlead from the Winegard 769x antenna.

The odds of acquiring WETM are much higher on the roof than in the attic.

An outdoor application is not available.

Is anyone else having good results with any particular attic setups?
