I have color swatches from ats accoustics and was wondering if anyone knew if they use the same type of fabric that GOM uses. My felt i used for my bass trap seems alot more accoustically transparent than this stuff using the blow test.

Not all GOM fabrics are equal in acoustic transparency. The "gold standard" is their FR701.

The ATS Acoustics site says that it sells burlap, which is generally very acoustically transparent because of its open weave. GOM fabric isn't burlap. If you don't mind the coarseness of the burlap look, and you are comfortable with this fabric's fire/flamespread specs (whatever they are), then it should be fine. The "blow-through" test is a reasonably accurate predictor of acoustic transparency.

However, one thing on the ATS Acoustics site is of a little concern:

Q: How can I attach fabric to Owens Corning 703 or 705?

A: Here's a process that seems to work well:
Apply spray adhesive such as 3M Super 77 or Ram-Tack High Tack Spray Adhesive to the fabric and to the surface of the fiberglass board.
Use plenty of adhesive, spray a lot on and you'll get a better bond.

After you "spray a lot" of adhesive over the surface of fabric, then let it dry, is it still easy to blow through?? :eek:

FR701 is indeed the right stuff. I also agree with his second point; I don't know that I would apply spray adhesive quite that liberally either.
