Well, it's been a long road but I'm almost done (as if that's ever possible).
Thanks to all who have posted on this site, I lurked and read almost every thread ever posted.
Here are a few pictures: [pictures also posted below]

and a quick synopsis of how I got here:
I built a semi-room within a room. The theater is in my basement with concrete walls on two sides. I built free-standing stud walls with rubber isolation bushings connecting them to the existing joists. The walls support new joists running right next to the existing joists.
I insulated the cavities between the new drywall and concrete walls and did one layer of 5/8 drywall there. On the other two walls, I did two layers of 5/8 drywall.
All that gave pretty good sound isolation. Not recording studio level but almost there for very little extra effort and money.
The left, center, and right speakers are behind a Sheerweave 4500 (chalk) screen and the subwoofer is behind a false stage made out of speaker cloth.
The entire front wall is covered with 1" Linacoustic and the curtains cover bass traps made out of Linacoustic and 2" OC703. Almost the entire front corners are filled in. One rear corner is treated the same way.
I run 7.1 with two sets of side speakers, one for each row. I built the side speakers and center speakers from Selah Audio kits (the Hiddenite) and am really happy with them. I already had the other speakers (Infinity 2000 series).
The projector is a Marantz VP8600 that was only $800 and has got to be one of the best deals ever. With great optics, great contrast, and a super quiet fan, the price performance is amazing. I'm not sure I would even benefit from 1080.
I chose an Onkyo 876 mainly to get pre-amp outputs and Audyssey XT and am really happy with the choice. I picked up 3 Audiosource AMP-100 for less than $100 each for the left, center, right.
A URC MX-810 programmable remote rounds it out and makes it so anyone can turn it on and control things. It's so easy to use, my wife can run it!
I chose to hire out the drywall and carpet but did everything else myself. Wow what a long road but this site really helped make it come out awesome.
Now to my question, after noticing a huge improvement after adding the bass trapping and treating the entire front wall, where should I add more sound treatment without making the room too dead?
I'll be taking some RT60 measurements this weekend and will post them afterwards.
