Ok. I'll admit upfront - I'm not anywhere near buying a home & having the space for a home theater. But it's a dream, and I'd like to start reading up on construction and what not so that I can be prepared.
I've got a little woodworking & wiring experience, but not enough to know what needs to be done from conception to completion.
Any suggestions?

Go volunteer on a habitat home building project. Get your hands dirty building a house. Observe how it is put together. Maybe meet some chicks.

Or you could find someone else here on avs local to you and offer up to help with some grunt work on the weekends; free beer and pizza must be supplied of course ;)
