I have an xbr6 I just got a while ago and I initially set up the built in channel guide for cable w/o a cable box. I later set up a comcast cable box with it, and I see some weird behavior. First of all- I see NO on screen display at all. I can't bring up the guide, no info screen, no channel information- basically no comcast GUI whatsoever.

I thought it had something to do with my setting up the built-in guide, or the TV otherwise not knowing it is now hooked up to a cable box. But then I also noticed that the channels are not exactly the same as in the other room. The majority of the channels are the same but some are in weird spots (starz HD is in 2 places, and I have no more HBO HD, CNN is 446 instead of 44)...weird stuff.

Just wondering if anyone has any insight into why this might be. The box is an older model (no HDMI) and is hooked up via component.

Could be that that "older" box needs a firmware update to make it compatible with your current lineup. It seems to be a Comcast issue.
