Help. I just got this octava 4 port hdmi switcher, because my receiver only has one optical digital input. It has both 4 hdmi and 4 optical digital inputs. I hooked up both the hdmi and the optical cable for the ps3 the the switcher. The ps3's audio worked fine when using the optical cable with my receiver. But it does not work through the switcher. I've gone into the ps3's menus and played around with all settings in audio output and in the bd dvd output sections. all combinations did not work.
And all my other devices work with the switcher. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you for your help.
Sounds like a set up error. Make sure the ps3 is set to send audio via optical out and that the optical out is connected to the optical IN on the switch.
Not sure how you are using the switch, but I believe if you connect the optical out to the receiver you will get the sound. If not, switch the optical in on the switch.
If you are trying to get video AND audio through the switch's hdmi out to your tv, you may have to double check that your switch has this capability.
You probably know this but you can't have audio out of optical and hdmi simultaniously w/ the ps3

You're right. It was set up error. I switched the hdmi and optical to a different port on the switcher and voila it worked.
Thank you for your help.

I have purchased the Octava 4x1 HDMI Switch with TOSLINK and Digital Coax in/out. I have a TiVo, COMCAST DVR, and PS3 plugged into the switch using only HDMI cables. I have a DIGITAL COAX cable going into my BOSE Lifestyle 50. I am using a Sony 52 LCD TV. There is no sound from any source through my BOSE. There is only sound through the TV. I have checked the setup with a similar switch from Monoprice and there is both sound and video to the Bose. Unfortunately, the monoprice unit's video breaks up ultimately resulting in a green screen with no picture or sound. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
