Okay...I have been going crazy to pick out whcich sub to get. This is to compliment a Yamaha YSP-3050 so obviously visual is a factor (Married and this is in the living/family room area). Why, I really don't know but I have seemed to settle on Velodyne (maybe b/c I have been looking on Ebay and these seem to be the better deals. But i can not decide which to get because I have not heard any. If you guys can chime in and let me know what you think I would appreciate it.

All of these are great value for the money. The Outlaws are on sale and have free shipping right now. I have a LFM-1 Compact, and am very impressed with it. I am also looking at adding another sub. It is very confusing. I have never actually heard any of the subs you listed. Hope this gives you some more ideas, and good luck.

I did...But the outlaw I was looking at is no longer available...didn't think about the compact though. I thought the velodyne were better deals in terms of what you get for what you pay (at those prices not MSRP).

Strikes me as strange that you would recommend the Compact when you are in the process of adding to yours or replacing it.

Should I stay away from Velodyne?No, Velos are still good subs, just not necessarily the best deals. If you want a Velo for mostly HT, I would recommend the DLS5000. If you're going for music and just want to fill in the bottom, then the SPL is a good choice.

The 5000 is a bigger driver (15"), bigger box, slot ported sub that digs deep enough and loud enough for most people. If you had the larger SPLs in your list (1200 or 1500), I would have no reservations in recommending them for both HT and music. In room, they dig deeper than the published specs and sound pretty tight. The SPL800 is just too small for a great HT experience.

Be careful where you buy a Velo. Check out their authorized dealers and web resellers lists. If you don't buy from an authorized reseller, you won't have a warranty.
