When I moved into my current place I bought a used Klipsch KSW10. It's been a pretty good sub but lately I'm just craving something better. Did some reading on here and am coming to the conclusion that the BIC H100, PA120, or VK12 are a nice upgrade along with the Cadence CSX-15 and Elemental A2-300.
The BIC stuff can be had for $300 or less on eBay, which is a bargain in my mind. I guess I'm a bit leary on these "unknown" brands, but maybe I'm just out of touch with that super low-production niche.
Anyone care to comment? The room is about 15x18 w/10ft ceilings, hardwood floors.
The rest of the system, if you care:
Onkyo TX-SR606
Polk R50 (f)
Polk CS10 (c)
Polk R15 (r)

If you can swing it, the Outlaw LFM-1 EX is $519 delivered and is a bargain at that price. It is in a higher class of subs from the BIC, PA 120.
EX has useful response to below 20 Hz. The others are good to about 25 Hz.

$519 is more than I wanted to spend...my tax refund should really go towards paying off the remainder of my credit card debts. Not really looking to go over $400.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

I've decided to order the Bic/Acoustech VK12. Thanks for all the helpful info and old discussions.
Threw my Klipsch on Craigslist for $125.

Replaced my KSW-10 with a MFW-15 in December. Nuff said about that.
I sold the KSW on e-bay for around $160. $.99 No Reserve to start and shipped it to Ohio. Didn't want strangers coming to my house for a cheap sub and then haggling the price.
