No, you missed out because it was double XP weekend and everyone was trying to get in the top 1%. I had every damn person on my friends list playing this weekend trying for it and these are guys who have not played in months. Keep trying and you'll get it!!!!.

King I think the trophies last night were tweaked. I just reread the listing of all the DLC trohies (prior add-ons) and they have always said were to be aquired in 1 round (match). I recall getting all the other awards spread out throughout the different portions of the individual match. I didn't think that they need to be aquired say in just the BC section. So I'm not sure what happed last night with me not getting in on the 50 kill for the round.

were you using bots? I don't think bot kills count toward the 50 kills. i'm not sure really.

Been playing the new levels. I don't quite like them as much as the last four, though. I find myself fighting the spawn bots in Suljeva far too easily and the choke points aren't completely clear yet. Also, there's only one entrance to the capture point for the propaganda speaker and you have to go up a narrow staircase to get there. Needless to say, the other team will put a spawn point up there and just spam grenades at the staircase the whole time. Just a bit annoying.

Any advice from KZ2 veterans about getting the DEFENSIVE SPECIALIST badge?

For some reason, I've only gotten to 2 ribbons and I really need the last 6.

I just need to know what maps are the best for turret placement (ie. which maps have the best chokepoints where turrets work best).

Any advice from you vets would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in adv.

Anyways.. I'm not the one to have good spots, as i barely run with the engineer. But i will tell you that it's probably easiest to play longer games that have Search And destroy. Then place bots in a good spot by the target, makes them have to come by your bots.

i beg to differ and i'll only say one word... ROCKETS :DBut once your rockets are gone...they're gone. A groundbot will almost immediately begin firing rockets at an airbot...if it's not already surrounded by members of the enemy faction. It's anti-airbot activities are second to none.

Take for instance the RR game on Beach Head last night. We were on ISA. They placed ground bots all over their C&H spot. I saw 3....I never made it down there. None of our (...my...) airbots could survive because they'd constantly be blasted down. That's great defense. Anywhere I could have placed an effective airbot was doomed for failure because of the size of the map and the placement of those bots.

Yes, a designated rocket launcher person with an ammo box nearby would do nicely. I suspect that they would be targeted rather quickly...but so would enemy bots. As I am a bot-whore, obviously I'm going to go the bot route.

And there was no way we could have gotten an airbot close to their base. It would have lasted all of 3 seconds before engulfed in groundbot fire.

20 minute body count must have been set to 100 kills. Lasts literally 10-15 minutes with 32 players. it's nice to pick up at least 40 points every time, even on the losing team. winning team your at about 100. quick points.

I have zero melee ribbons also. Just have never tried I guess. I still need 5 more air support ribbons but when playing with Toad you have no chance to get an air bot out.n Some people are just bot whores

well, I was able to enjoy myself just enough to get through the week. I won't be playing those servers anymore, unless you guys are in one and I join.

Yup thats my take on it thats why I have none plus I hate playing with RR. Back when the game first came out I joined a "melee" only room and it was anything but. It turned into a regular game because everyone was just throwing nades and using the M4. If I ge it I get it, if I dont (most likely scenario) I dont.

pretty sure they last so long as they are not hit with weapons or run into
if you are an engineer you can also restore their meter (which will show how damaged they are)

They are timer based. I have no idea how long the timer is set for but I'd estimate 2- 4 mins without being shot at.

I played online enough to rank up one time so far on a server than seem to be running a body count map loop for 25 mins or so. Will it give a msg if you need a map you don't have or just dump you out. I tried to connect to a few other servers and it would seem to work then say I was disconnected from the network.

There should be filter options to filter out the map packs before you search for a match making game. If you pick a server manually, just check the rotation.

Otherwise, yes, it'll just boot you.

The maps are pretty worth it IMO, although I don't like two of them (both in separate packs). There was a deal 2 weeks ago to buy all three packs as a bundle for $10, so you might want to check the PS3 store asap to see if it's still there.

For the people in Montreal, Best Buy has this game for 29.99$ august 14th to august 16th. :) (Maybe it will be useful for 1 person lol)

Master Chief never says or does crap in the way of character development and fanboys still revere him as one of the greatest gaming heroes of all time. Same goes with Gordon Freeman of the Half-Life series. Apparently, it doesn't really matter if the character has zero character development as long as he has an awesome getup or a wicked goatee.

Not sure about MC, but in HL YOU are Freeman. No Dialogue or character development because the character is just an extension of yourself playing through the story.

Personally, that makes the most sense in a FPS, since you're already looking through the eyes as an doppelganger. Problem is, the story then needs to be 10 fold better to make a coherent, and interesting plot. It also puts more weight behind building character development of the NCP's.

Thats where HL succeeded, and Halo and KZ have failed IMO. You're playing as a Marine, as someone else, not as yourself thrown into that situation, and little attention is put into the plot or your buddies around you.

There are lots of good characters in FPS games. For example, the leads in the No One Lives Forever games, or Deus Ex.

He talked a lot but never had anything constructive to contribute except whining about how ridiculous or difficult the situation he was involved in was reminiscent of Baird from Gears (except without the occasional funny wisecrack). :rolleyes:

After dealing with a character like that, I agree that the strong silent type such as Gordon Freeman or Mario (at least in the earlier games) are better protagonists than characters with weak or annoying personalities.

But, the wisecracking guy was pretty good in Duke Nukem 3D.

When I finally did get to Radec himself, I lit him up a bit with some gunplay, then I burned his ass with the leftover flamethrowers (he screams like a bitch by the way, lol), and shot him while he was on fire. I was so relieved to see the "Kill Radec" checked off at the top of the scene, and the cut scene begin.

Damn congrats on the R2 Platinum, I gave up on the 10k kills. Only trophy I needed for my first plat.

Just break it up...100 kills a night minimum and you will have it in 90 days or less.

Set up a normal game rotation, but max out the pts and round times.

Run as soldier (boost/extra health) and use your handgun. Spawn into smoke spawn nades where a battle for a flag is going on. Might be a tad more difficult now that the took away invincibility.

Cap and hold, just camp, camp, camp one cap point. If you die, return and recapture it. Pretty sure it just needs to be 10 kills within one cap point while under your teams control.

Just got this for Christmas. I can't put my finger on it but is there something I have to do with the control settings to get this to react a little better? I don't think I normally would notice but I just got done playing Modern Warfare 2 and the controls on that game are spot on.

MW2 ruined me. This game sucks now for me. My advice. Don't play MW2 first...I loved KZ2 before.

Thanks for posting this. I'm not a huge fan of gamespot, but I did enjoy reading/listening to their choices for best games of 2009. It was nice seeing some other games win besides MW2. It was a great game, for sure, but it's refreshing to see others recognized, especially when this year was full of top-quality games.

I'd also recommend alternate 1 control settings and adjusting the aim/zoom function for hold to aim if you like the COD layout. Crouch is still L2 though, nothing can be done about that.

That's the way it seems to me too. When you watch the replays sometimes it's like the other guy was already shooting you before you ever drew down on him, even though that is not the way it appeared when you were playing. This was part of the adjustment I was speaking of.

Why would IW waste their money on something like that? clearly there's better money to be made by including NVGs in the special edition.

lol, no doubt! Given the fact that it doesn't take more than a few hits to kill you, you would think that dedicated servers or something would be used to try and make things more even.

I guess when you know the game is going to sell like crack filled hotcakes (not sure if these would actually sell well), then I guess you don't worry about it and ship it.

You can do the same thing with $25 and a trip to radio shack [although their workers no longer have the brains to tell you what you need].

Real NV is still hella expensive, because it's real and it works. Those things are just a IR diode and very cheap IR sensitive camera.

KZ2 online is incredible. First game that got me into FPS Online on console.

it depends. Last time I played there was a bunch of radec/tharsis servers and DM only servers. We hopped into a riff raff server that had all modes, but 30 min each.

Yeah riff, ghordo left a match ago and Jenk dropped off somewhere. I was left with someguy who's name I couldnt pronounce and it seemed like I was the only one actually fighting back. Whenever I saw him he was cloaked as a sniper or hiding in the corner.

Right...you have to disable the class...which means you're disabling repairs and spawn points as well.

Take your time, knife when you can, and enjoy it. But you've yet to see Elite when the cross-hairs go away and the enemy is much, more agressive about moving up on you (oh, and of course you die faster). If you search back in this thread, there was one scene that took me a week or longer of 3 hours per night to try to pass. I came very close to giving up on getting it done. Once you finish veteran, you need to head back in for Elite. :cool:

That was Toads buddy. He had only played SP and during one game (the map with the bolt gun) Toad was talking to him on the phone trying to help him DL the map packs. Boy was that funny, Toad was so confusing LOL.
