I was just at Walmart and they had a Philips DVDR3576H on the shelf for $298. It looked in very good condition, as if recently put there. Or nobody ever cared to pick it up & check it out. No boxes on the shelf & I asked a salesperson if there were any in the back in stock. He checked & said no, but 5 were coming in. There happened to be another customer there wanting one. He said he's been told several times more units were coming in, but he's never seen them. Either none ever arrived or he just happened to come in when they were sold out.

Try plugging in a zip code at walmart.com and search for stores with any stock as it shows a 100 mi radius I believe. Another alternative is the Magnavox H2160 which is basically a 3576 clone sold at Walmart, but it's only sold online.

Yes, I got one about a month back from the shelf. And was the last one, brand new in box. Few days back another poster lucked out and found one online at Walmart. 2160 at Walmart is very close and almost a clone and you can find it on line right now.
